This is Gavin! Born August 2011. We were unaware of his diagnosis until after his birth. In the beginning, we were scared, sad and unsure about what the future would bring. Fast forward 2 years, he is an active, fun and healthy toddler. His smile and warm hug will melt your heart. We joined KIIDS shortly after his birth and it was the best decision we ever made. We were welcomed with open arms and it didn’t take long to realize that these kids are just that…kids. They’re just like everyone else. We were reminded that we will have our share of challenges but his accomplishments will far outweigh any of them. Gavin has made us all better people: we’re more compassionate, patient and grateful for health and life. He is a huge blessing to us all. He is destined for greatness!!
Overwhelming pride is how I feel about this handsome boy. He is so loved by all of his family. He instantly brings a smile to your face! In addition, I am proud of his Mom and Dad for taking the crucial and necessary steps at such a young age. He has come so far because of your quick and active involvement with your Kiids family. Gavin is surrounded by love! God made him perfect in every way!
What a beautiful story and beautiful child. I don’t have the privledge of knowing Gavin well, but I can tell you, he is truly overwhelmingly loved by his family, and that in itself is all Gavin needs to achieve greatness.
Gavin, you will never know how much I truly love you. I was only 13 months old when you were born and from the moment we first met, you were my best friend! To me, you’re no different. We fight, we play, we hug, we hide. We are partners in crime and I will always be here for you no matter what. I will be your shoulder to cry on and your biggest supporter to lift you up. There is nothing you can’t do because I will be right by your side to ensure you can achieve your greatest expectations. Brothers don’t count chromosomes! You are my inspiration and I love you to the moon and back. Love your big brother, Killian XOXO
Gavin is a remarkable young boy. I have the priviledge of working with him daily in the classroom. His parents are ideal in that by treating Gavin just like every other child in the world, he continues to make progress. He is happy, sociable, & one of the most popular students in the school because of his ability to say “hi” to every one. We are blessed to know he and his family.
